The above property is located within a prominent location within Kentish Town (North London) and is categorised as a ‘Grade 2’ listed building. As a result of the Local Authority’s initiative to provide to provide a greater level of affordable family accommodation within the Borough, Arun Associates were initially instructed to  examine the feasibility of converting the existing three flat accommodation into two large dwelling units. The report which Arun Associates prepared set out the initial design proposals, modifications and statutory approvals which would be required to convert the building and provided accurate budget costs.     Arun Associates were subsequently instructed to prepare a full design package, seek necessary Listed Building Consent, Planning & Building Regulations approvals.

We obtained competitive prices and reported to the client making a recommendation for appointment of the contractor. Supervision of the works was in the form of weekly site attendance, minuted progress meetings and monthly valuations of the completed works.

Arun Associates where able to achieve completion within the client’s time-frame dealing with the conflicting demands of the Planning Officer and Building Control Department in relation to working on a Listed Building.
